Welcome to Lourdes Convent
In 1958 sisters of Sacred Heart established Lourdes Convent School. With humble beginnings having only 26 students to start with in the Pre-Primary section, every year more number of students and classes were added to become a full fledged school having co-education up to SSC Board.
In the year 1978 Carmelite Sisters took over the institution from the sisters of Sacred Heart. The Carmelite Sisters are women consecrated to God under the patronage of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Motivated and inspired by the zeal of their charismatic foundress, Mother Mary Theresa Veronica, carry out the work of education and other work of mercy in many parts of the country. The congregation took root at Holy Angels Convent, Trivandrum, from where it spread its branches in India and abroad serving the social cause of imparting education in a noble way.
Thereafter the school has been constantly upgrading its Standard, infrastructure, academics, sports, technology and discipline to provide the best to the students.

Lourdians: Pilgrims of Hope, Upholders of Constitutional Values
The year 2025 has been declared a Jubilee Year by the Catholic Church—a sacred time of renewing grace and reconciliation, celebrated every 25 years. This Holy Year, proclaimed by the late Pope Francis, centres on the theme Pilgrims of Hope. Though he is no longer with us, his message continues to resonate deeply, calling the world to walk forward in faith, with hope as our guide and compassion as our companion.
At Lourdes, we embrace this invitation as we begin a new academic year committed to spiritual growth and social responsibility. We, the Lourdians, set forth on a transformative journey that calls us to live not in fear or apathy, but with purpose and conviction. To be a pilgrim of hope is to let light triumph over despair, to believe in the goodness of humanity, and to offer encouragement where it is most needed. It is an invitation to make hope visible—through our choices, our words, and our daily interactions.
These pilgrimages are grounded in both our faith and the enduring values of our nation. As citizens of India, we are entrusted with the responsibility of upholding the core principles of our Constitution: justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. These are not abstract ideas, but living values that call us to act with integrity, honour diversity, and treat every individual with dignity and respect.
Throughout this academic year, let every lesson, initiative, and moment of reflection deepen our commitment to this dual calling—to be torchbearers of hope and faithful guardians of the values that shape our democracy. May our journey together sharpen our conscience and bring us closer to the kind of world envisioned by Pope Francis—a world where faith and civic responsibility walk hand in hand.
